Are they licensed, insured, current with L&I and Department of Revenue?
Ask for copies or use L&I’s site to look up a contractor. Is the crew experienced? Everybody must start somewhere, but that doesn’t mean the crew you get is learning to paint without a seasoned painter by their side. Ask for trade references and after that contact these references.

Do they offer a guarantee and stand behind it?
What’s the process, when will the job start, and roughly how long can it take?
What is the process of extra work, changes in scope or changes in color?
What’s the accepted form of payment?
Our suggestions is that both parties know exactly what to expect. From our proposals that are accepted, to the contract that are made to our client.
